Respite Care Program
Do you know that everyone enrolled in EFMP qualifies for Respite Care?  Respite Care is a program that provides rest and relief for family member responsible for regular care of the exceptional family member enrolled with the program.  Respite care can be utilized for shopping, a weekend trip, personal doctor’s appointments, attend a training or educational event, and relaxation.  EFMP will pay up to 40 hours per month/per enrolled family member.  For more information, call (928) 269-2949, or stop by our offices located in Building #645, Room 304.

Adaptive Play & Recreation Event
When:  Monday, November 17, 2008
Time:  6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Where:  Youth Center, bldg #1050
Cost:  FREE
Come learn about on-base and local adaptive play and recreation opportunities for Exceptional Family Members. Representatives from Yuma Parks & Rec, Special Olympics, MCCS Youth Sports and Saddles of Joy Riding Therapy will be here to talk about their programs.

Arizona Center for Disability Law Parent Training
When:  Thursday, December 4, 2008
Time:  9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (noon)
Where:  Base Community Center, bldg #1093
Cost:  FREE
Has your child been diagnosed with a medical, physical or behavioral condition?  Is this diagnosis affect them in achieving educational success?  Confused as to who to talk to at your child’s school and the questions to ask to determine if specially designed instruction is needed?  A representative from the AZ Center for Disability Law in Phoenix will be here to conduct training for parents to answer these questions and so much more!  Section 504’s, IEP’s, and the evaluation process are some of the topics that will be discussed.
