Child Care Resource and Referral Office

The Child Care Resource and Referral Office is staffed by a knowledgeable professional who can help parents:
  • Locate and select youth services on and off the installation.
  • Obtain trained teenage sitters for occasional hourly child care.
  • Access parenting videos and written materials.
  • Obtain information on Youth/Teen services.
  • Learn how to become a Family Child Care Provider.
  • Contracting Care during special events for all units and most organizations at MCAS, Yuma
  • Local community childcare information and referrals to other NAEYC accredited facilities.
  • Special Needs Group homes within the community.
  • Short Term Alternative Child Care (STACC) option provides care on an occasional rather that daily basis.

Are you expecting a baby or need childcare?
If so, it is recommended that your place your unborn child on the waiting list for child care immediately! Infant care waiting list may be 4 to 6 months long. By registering now, your wait will be minimized. Infants must be six weeks old to attend child care.
 
Is your spouse deployed? Do you need a break?
For spouses of Marines and Sailors deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) or Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), there is a silver lining around the cloud of stress and anxiety that accompanies the deployed family lifestyle. Specifically, the OEF relief is for children ages 6 weeks old to 12 years.

To qualify you must:
  • Register with the Resource and Referral Office;
  • Provide deployment orders with Eligibility Dependency form
  • Or a letter from the sponsor’s command.
 
Child Development Center
Offers full day and hourly care programs for children 6 weeks through 5 years old (pre-kindergarten age). Vacancies are filled by Resource and Referral from a waiting list that varies in
length by age and program. To apply, please visit the
Resource and Referral Office in Building 1085A next to the Child Development Center (CDC). The Child Development Center is the first program in the Marine Corps and the third in the Department of Defense to be accredited by NAEYC under the new comprehensive standards.
 
Youth Center Affiliated with the Boys & Girls Club of America
Youth Center offers a variety of activities for school age children and youth. Offerings are broken down into 5 components:
    • Before & After School Care
    • Hourly Care
    • School-Aged Camp during school breaks
    • Pre-Teen/Teen Programs
    • Contracted Classes
 
Family Child Care Program (FCC)
The Family Child Care Program (FCC) offers an alternative to center based care. Providers are trained, certified and monitored by the Family Child Care Program Director. They are qualified to offer child care in their homes aboard the installation and off base. FCC providers offer a variety of planned group and individual activities tailored to meet children’s development needs.
 
Child and Adult Food Program
CDC, FCC and YC follow the Child & Adult Care Food Program through Arizona Department of Education in conjunction with USDA regulations.
