MCCS Coordinators
MCCS Coordinators act as MCCS liaison to the Area Commander. They are commited to supporting the command. They are also the leading advocate for Quality of Life programs aboard MCAS Yuma. Your MCCS Coordinators are experts on all MCCS services and activities, they assist with unit fund budget and distribution of funds for command QOL programs, and also provide assistance with planning, set-up, and execution of golf outings, tournaments, banquets, trips, and other command sponsored functions |

Pam Slatt
MCCS Coordinator

Pam Slatt graduated from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Recreation/Fitness Management. After graduation she was employed by a corporate wellness company in Washington, D.C. She loved the east coast but decided it was time for a change, so she moved to San Diego, where she worked at MCRD San Diego as their Health Promotion Director for MCCS. Just recently Pam married her Marine which brought her out to MCAS Yuma. Shortly after moving Pam accepted the Area Coordinator position.
As the Area Coordinator for MCAS Yuma, Pam is the direct link for active duty members on base and all aspects of MCCS. It is her primary duty to be the liaison between the active duty member and all divisions within MCCS. Her focus is the quality of life for each Marine, Sailor and their families while stationed aboard the air station. Some of the items that Pam assists all commands with are family days and other types of command functions. She also can reserve equipment from Arizona Adventures at no charge, coordinate DJ services and assist with facility reservation and preparation for command functions. Lastly, she is available to offer suggestions and/or assist with the coordination other events to further support personnel aboard MCAS Yuma.

Chris Hamel
MCCS Coordinator
MAG-13, MAWTS-1, VMFT-401 |
Chris Hamel is the Area coordinator for MAG-13, MAWTS-1 and VMFT-401.
He recently retired after 30 years of service to the Corps this past January. He started his career here at MCAS, Yuma in October 1978 and it has been a pleasure serving Marines, but as they say its time to move over and let someone else take the diver seat. Chris has been stationed at numerous duty stations to include MCAS, Yuma, MCB Camp Pendleton, I&I Duty San Jose Ca, two tours on recruiting duty as well as other Joint Army bases for training. He has held billets such as recruiter, electronic technicians & supervisor, administrative clerk and chief as well a company First Sergeant and 4 different tours as a Sergeant Major. For the last four and a half years of his career Chris was stationed here aboard MCAS Yuma as the SgtMaj for both MAWTS-1 & H&HS.
As the Area Coordinator for MAG-13, MAWTS-1 and VMFT-401, Chris will be the direct link for the Active Duty service members within the commands he sponsors. It is his primary duty to be the liaison between the active duty members and all departments within MCCS. His focus is the quality of life issues for every Marine, Sailor and their families within his commands. Some of the issues that Chris will assist you and the commands with quality of services, forwarding suggestions and ideas, reserving gear issues through Arizona Adventures (some of these at little to no cost), coordinating and assisting with facility reservations, preparation for command function just to name a few.
