POSITION: CHILD DEVELOPMENT-YOUTH ACTIVITIES PROGRAM ASSISTANT , GSE 02-04
Flexible (0-40 hrs/wk) Salary: Entry & Intermediate Level $10.76 - $14.74 per hour

| AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Current NAFI employees aboard MCAS, Yuma and all qualified outside applicants. |
| DUTIES: The primary function of this position is to provide appropriate developmental care and instruction for children in the Child Development Center. Ensures that care is provided in compliance with Child Development standards as outlined in applicable regulations. |
| QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years of age at time of appointment, have a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and successfully pass required background and health checks. At the Entry Level no requirements. At the Intermediate Level must have 6 months of experience and have completed the basic training requirements. At the Target Level must have one (1) year experience as a child care giver, kindergarten aide, preschool teacher, or other directly related field. Must have completed the basic GSE-03 training and 13 modules of the DON Standardized Child Development Training Program; or a child development associate credential (CDA) or an AA degree in child development or a related field. |
DRUG FREE WORKPLACE:
This position is designated as being subject to unannounced random drug testing under the Department of the Navy’s Drug-Free Workplace Program. The selected applicant must have a negative drug test result before employment may begin. An offer of employment will be rescinded if the selected applicant fails to report to any of the scheduled appointments or fails the pre-employment drug test. |
