POSITION: RECREATION SPECIALIST(Fitness Coach) NF-0188-02
Flexible (0-40 hrs/wk)
Salary: $9.00 - $11.00 per hour
LOCATION: Fitness Center, MCAS Yuma AZ 85369
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Current NAFI employees aboard MCAS, Yuma and all qualified outside applicants.
DUTIES: Assist Personal Trainers in physical fitness programs, special events, and classes.   Responsible for overseeing the cardiovascular and weight room to insure an efficient operation of the fitness center.  Actively promote, market, and encourage the use of the fitness centers and programs, conduct patron tours, and strive to ensure all area are clean, tidy, and consistently ready for patron use. 

Will assist patrons during their workouts to include spotting, demonstrating proper form and technique, and adjusting equipment fit to allow for proper form and use.  Will monitor equipment functionality and report to higher level authority.  May assist with reception/front desk operations.
 
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy.  Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner.  Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact.  Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems.  Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services.  Takes action to solve problems quickly.  Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.                                                          
Adheres to safety regulations and standards.  Uses required safety equipment, and  observes safe work procedures.  Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from  workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.                                                        

Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.                                                        

Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS: Must have general fitness facility knowledge that is relevant to lifting techniques, proper lifting form, and capable of executing proper spotting procedures.  Must have relevant knowledge of different types of selectorized, plate loaded, and cable driven equipment.  Certification in CPR and First Aid is required within 6 months of employment.  This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
